Sick and all (I have a cold) me wife and I packed up our camera gear and dog, and headed to Kerry Park in the Queen Anne neighborhood in downtown Seattle.

When we got there it was a little foggy but it started clearing up a little bit.

Settings for this shot:
- No tripod, there was enough sun light for hand-holding the camera.
- Polarizer filter to minimize the effect of the haze.
- Believe it or not, but I tried first with my wife's Canon 75-300mm telephoto lens but the shots were too narrow, so I resorted to my good ol' Canon 18-55mm lens and shot at 55mm (with the polarizer filter).
- For aperture I used F5.6/F6.3***
- Exposure was 1/640ish

*** I usually switch to "P" (program) mode and half-press the shutter to see the reading of the aperture; which in this case was F5.6/F6.3, and then switched back to Manual mode and adjusted it to those settings.

Because of the light I also bracketed the camera using Automatic Exposure Bracketing (AEB) and tried an HDR shot (check my photos on Flickr).
